Frances Farmer began her career in the health care profession as a dental hygienist practicing for 12 years in the United States and Switzerland. She began studying massage therapy and practiced for one year, receiving her license as a Massage Therapist in 1992 from the Michigan Myomassology Institute. While practicing massage, she wanted to study a more comprehensive approach to healing. This led her to the Asian healing arts and ultimately to the Ohashiatsu program in 1993. She completed the advanced level at the Institute’s Zendo retreat in 1995 and became a Certified Ohashi Instructor (COI) in 2001. She has continued her interest in Asian healing techniques by studying Traditional Chinese Medicine in Sri Lanka, China and the United States. She has maintained a private Ohashiatsu practice in Ann Arbor since 1993.
